Engine Block Heater

I installed a new engine block heater 2 months ago, I plugged the heater in today and "pop' goes the circuit breaker in my house ughHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!

Just checked the resistance of the block heater plug with my multimeter and its zero, same as touching the red and black probe together, appears to be a direct short.

I am unhappy and not sure what I can do, if anything.

Wire may have got squished when unit was put in place, it was very tightly pressed between the starter and the unit itself.

I guess I need to pull it out, the plug wire and disconnect from the block heater to see if it got damaged.

Any suggestions?

FRANK
