Electrical problem. Please help!

I just bought my first toyota. its a 91 4runner 4wd V6. runs pretty good except for one thing. my parking lights and gauges aren't working. fuses are good, blubs are good, changed the combination switch, i have continuity across the dimmer knob. don't have power at the fuse switch or dimmer. i have the chilton manual but i cannot find a wiring diagram of this circut anywhere. it would be very helpful in finding the problem. what should i do?

edit: I did find a wiring diagram that helped me out a while ago.

Update

so right after i posted this thread i figured out that my truck IS supposed to have a taillight relay and it wasn't there. replaced it and they still don't work. i re tested everything. have power at the comb. switch now and the relay is clicking on and off. have power at the fuse and the fuse is good. i checked the glove box switch plug and it does not have power but the power wire has continuity to the body. should i be looking for a damaged harness under the dash? i really didn't want to take the whole dash off but its looking like i probably have to. would the glove box power wire having continuity like that mean a ground short? its not popping any fuses so i'm not sure what to think.

well. i guess its a bad wire. don't think its a bad component. probably a cut wire or a screw through the power wire or something.

the fuse did blow after i put the relay in. i guess the PO removed it to keep the fuse from blowin. i don't know wtf was goin on but its working now. now i just gotta fix the p/s leak and figure out why don't have near the power i should. think my timing belt might be a tooth off. gonna check that this week.
