e-locker retrofit ????'s!!!

I keep finding conflicting beta regarding which master install kit is needed for re-gearing an e-locker. I'm wanting to go with Yukon gear parts, and a retailer here only listed one part number for v-6 8", but I am nearly positive the e-lockers require an e-locker specific install kit.

Also, is it true that I will need a new flange to make my driveshaft work??

Thanks in advance!

You will need an e locker install kit but they do use the same ring and pinion. I'm guessing you have an e-locker third already out of a Tacoma or 4runner, these have different flange patterns. You'll need a new flange. I think a triple drilled flange can be found for around 30 bucks. Mine came with one from the guy who did the gears for me.

What are your plans for the wiring harness? If you're not going to make you're own, I highly recommend 12voltguy.com for the swithc and harness, the switch and harness are legit!

If you have any other questions just ask and here's a link to my build.

I'm 99% sure the e-locker 3rd has at least one different carrier bearing (on the back side of the carrier) than a standard 3rd, so the master install kits should be different. Zuk willl know, he set up my e-locker with all cryo bearings and a solid crush sleeve.

Here's a picture of the "back side" of my e-locker 3rd:

And a picture of a regular 3rd:
