Downey 4 runner springs on a pickup.
Was going to the spring shop to get new carrier leafs put on my lift springs, and put them side by side... the downey ones are a lot shorter.
I cross referenced the part number, and they are downey springs for a 79 to 88 4 runner.
If I used them, the shackles would be over center on the wrong side of the pivot point... unless that was the intention.
Can someone with knowledge of the subject tell me if I'm ed or not?

well for 1, 4runner started in 84. so 79-88 is kinda funny, considering 89 had leafsprings also. as for the length, when they compress they extend, but not that much. you should take the top leaf with the eyes off of the downey pack and replace it with your stock eye leaf. it will give you the better downey pack and the longer leaf eye to eye.

They are. 4runner leafs are shorter. (as pictured) I thought they were the same too. i tried to put some leaves from my 92 onto my 87 runner. they were too long.
