cross pin shaft removal
im in the middle of installing a spartan locker in my IFS front diff. im trying to remove the cross pin shaft retaining pin and cant get it out. what do you guys use to remove this? a special type of punch? also, theres not much info i coudl come across on installing a IFS locker, can i remove the cross pin shaft and install the locker without removing the carrier?

It's possible to remove the retaining pin. Just not intended to ever be done. You notice how they've so conveniently peened the hole shut for you.
So yeah, try some different sized punches to widen the hole. If that fails I'd drill the peened hole out big enough to push the retaining pin out.
Good luck!
PS, I think you can install a lunchbox locker without removing the carrier. Don't quote me on it though.
