the coils hes talking about is prolly those cheapo things you buy at autozone, that go over the shocks to increase load capacity... and you could go ford springs also a little easier you can keep the rear shackle and just move the front hanger..

get a bottle jack and pop your rear fenders out like 2inches then make braces to hold it in place. then you dont have to lift it and it costs basically nothing. you may not even need the jack. usually its easy to do. we pulled the fenders on my buddys ranger 4inches so he can fit 33's without a lift on a 2wd. we basically did the same thing fibergalss would do but for free. thats the way i would go. but lift kits are cool too. oh and you may not be able to use the plastic inner fender shroud thingy depending on how far you pull your fenders but it all depends.

if you dont do any more than like 2inches you cant tell that they are even pulled. if you pull them alot they look like this http://www.glassworksunlimited.com/19to19tobe4f.html but thats a 4 inch flare. its like i said it all depends on how much clearance your looking to get. if its like an inch or 2 you wouldnt notice unless you actually looked at it for a while. besides if you dont like it you can always take it back to stock

i tried pulling the bedsides on my pickup and its not as easy as it is on a ranger. the toyota bed sides dont have the extra slack like the rangers do because the beds are shorter and you can crease the fender really east if you go too far. i was only able to get about a 1 1/4'' out of them before i could see a crease forming and it dinted the crap out of the side, so i stopped there. i used the stock brackets and just drilled new holes and bent them a little bit, but if you only need a little bit of room, the brackets have 2 sets of holes and you can use the outside hole to get like 3/4 of an inch of flair.

why the hell are you fools lifting and modding out 2wd's like they are 4x4's. if you quit spending money on stupid mods and sell it you might have enough money to get a nice 4x4. you guys must be urban dwellers

Lets see, cheaper insurance, better gas mileage, better towing capabilities, more power, faster, easier to carry and un-load loads in the bed, easy to find cheap parts for, and the list goes on...

Maybe you should sell your "nice 4x4" and spend your money on a dentist and some school because "you sir" must be country raised with all your kissing cousins.

Yeah but, with the 2WD you're going to spend big bucks modding it to get that 4wd capability and ride height, when you could just throw the 2WD trans and gearing in the 4WD and ditch the front diff and 4WD stuff.
Then you could have your 2WD with 4wd rideheight and the cake too.

With regards to the Zuk mod you'll need to be very careful about which coils you use. I used 14" 100'b coils on a pickup (4x4) and it lifted it almost 3". I then used some 14" 125lb coils on a 4runner and got just about the same lift. Since you're lifting a 2 wheel drive I'd almost suggest some 12" 100lb coils so you get a little less lift (hopefully just enough to level it) but gain a pretty large amount of carrying capacity.

so? whats the big deal if someone does? whats worse, some one who spends money to make there 2wd more capable offraod or someone who spends money on a 4x4 and it never sees dirt?

i'm just saying, why spend the EXTRA money trying to make the 2WD as capable as a 4WD when you could buy the 4WD and spend the money on a locker..
