Antennae Replacement

My antennae came pre-destroyed when I bought it so want to get it replaced, was looking on Ebay and came across this and wanted to see if anyone has tried one of these and how it worked out?

http://www.ebay.com/itm/REPLACE-4RUN...ht_4050wt_1139

Or at the least any thoughts on it or should I stick with a more factory replacement.

I saw the thread on the the more rubbery looking antennae swap but the looks of it do not appeal to me so looking for something a bit neater looking.

I bought one from CRUTCHFIELD.com for, I think, $9 to my door. I spec'd it out for my 92 pickup and it fit perfectly.

EDIT...$12.99.

but here's the link http://www.crutchfield.com/S-z5ybGVR...er-reviews-tab

a pic of it on my son's 88 4runner

This isn't a power antenna (I assume you know that). If your original is power, you can replace just the mast (depending on how much pre-destroying had been done.)

yes...and that is why i could not find one for his 88 4runner, because I kept finding power ones. my son's was definitely pre-destroyed. the no-frills one is a great alternative and it definitely fits. and it's much beefier that even the original one on my truck.

The plastic enter on mine was broken with the antennae was fully up so pretty sure I need a full replacement. The stationary replacement will be ok, if the one from crutchfield will be a bit more "bendy" then its cool with me

Thanks Toy for the link gonna check it out now

To me, bendy is better and more bendy is more better. Here's a stock photo of the kind I've been using for that last few years. My only wish is that I could buy a better quality one with replaceable components.

That is my thinking as well which is why I think the one on ebay or the one on Crutchfield would be a better choice for a trail rig than the telescoping one.
