aloha, valve lash specs on da 22 re?

howzit! anybody can tell me what is da valve lash specifications on one '88 2.4, 4 cyl 22-re engine? mahalos

Factory is .008 on intake and .012 on exhaust. I like to set them at .007 and .011 to make it a little quieter

also, valve clearance is set with the engine at normal operating temp... i.e.: HOT!.. lol

is it the same measurements for the 22r and the 22re..and also would it be the same on my 87 22re pickup

And, don't over tighten the valve cover grommets. Just until they begin to compress.

and as mentioned, don't overtighten the valve cover. you only need to be tight enough to just barely squish the grommets. and a dab of rtv on the edges of the half moon seals where they meet the head and cover.
