Unhappy AFM Swap Question

I know the information is out there somewhere, I'm 90% sure I've seen it before, but I simply cannot seem to find it.
I have the correct AFM from a supra to swap on my Runner, but I've had a few problems:
When I first installed it the truck couldn't get above 2.5k rpm, it would shudder and jerk and it simply wasn't good.
After that I tried to play with the wheel inside of it to match impedance to that of my 22re afm. In this process I managed to let the wheel go lose and have no idea what the best thing to do is.
I've heard awesome stores about how much this can help a 22re and would really like to get it working...
So what should I test/adjust/etc?

I think you can take the factory AFM apart and install the wheel and all the guts into the Supra AFM. I'll do some looking and see if I can confirm this.

I'm pretty sure I have the one from the 82 supra, 5mge engine, so it should be a straight bolt up
