91 toyota 4x4 clicking well broke...........
Well after reading all threads i decided i need to know what parts i need.
Like others i had the clicking in the front wheel area when my manual hubs
are locked. The cv boot was ripped. Well i decided to ignore it because, well
didnt bother me. And because it is mostly a daily driver and i doesnt do that
when the hubs are free i said oh well. Anyways the other day in the desert it
got a little worse but nothing to serious. While it was fully turned it finally
broke the bearing or what i have read a cv joint, or something in there. I
have a repair manual and read threads but i want to know what you guys
think before i tear into it considering it is my rig to school. There are pics
below. I know ill have to take it apart to see the total damage but what
parts is it looking liek ill need? toyota 22-re pickup 1991 model
This is part of the piece that broke---
This is the view from the inside----
This is just the view from the back(i tore the rest of the boot off---

Ummm yeah - that's your CV joint. Basically, when the boot tears, your days are numbered. You will need to replace the entire CV joint assembly (also called a halfshaft)
Hopefully, you didn't screw up any wheel bearings/bushings from having play in the CV.
CV joint is easy to replace - there are several writeups on here how to do it. Mine was like $79 at Autozone (lifetime warranty) after the core charge.
