89 yota 5sp v6 out of gear but still moves when clutch is let out
I have a 89 yota p/u 4x4 v6 5sp that i just recently put a new clutch , throw out bearing , pilot bearing , pressure plate , master and slave cyl in. i also welded up the clutch pedal bracket after it broke going through the wood but it seems as that wouldn't come as a surprise to most of you on here by what i read.
it seems as though i have a semi unique problem i need help with so i figured this would be a good place to start.
after putting in all those parts listed above in , the clutch didn't seem to disengage when the truck got hot .. trouble shot that , there was still a little air left in the lines , so i re bled it with a vacuum pump , the clutch disengages now . and here the new problem .
when you put the truck in gear and let the clutch out and try to move it it has a slightly violent shake to it , you push the pedal disengage the clutch and it stops , but when you put it in neutral and let the clutch pedal out it the truck shakes not as bad as when its in gear but it still moves foward in the neutral like its still in gear ... any ideas anyone ? ive checked everything i can think of w/o taking the whole trans and transfer case down which i really don't want to do..
will definitely appreciate any input on this disaster. thanks

well my first impression was a old worn pressure plate...but you replaced that.
assuming the new one isnt warped for some reason it sounds like somethings not lined up right...

well the pressure plate is new , all is torqued to specs , theres only 2 things left i can think of , 1 the throw out bearing fork is not aligned or 2 it was driven on after the initial snap of the clutch pedal bracket and the forks inside the tranny are bent for being forced into gears.

I had a problem with an 88 that would seem to creep when in neutral, and had trouble shifting to all gears, my problem was fixed with a new slave/master cylinders and bleeding. I assumed it was because it wasn't disengaging all the way. probably not your problem, as you replaced all those anyways...

did you replace or have the flywheel turned? if not, thats probobly the source of the vibration when letting out on the clutch in gear. also, did you have any oil leaks that may be leaking on the flywheel/clutch area? did you have issues getting the tranny stabbed back in? alot of times people struggle getting the input shaft through the clutch splines, and jiggle/slam the tranny up and down and all around cussing and yelling. this often leads to some ˟˟˟˟ up fingers on the pressure plate and can warp a clutch disc. are you sure the tranny slid up on the dowels? i've seen people miss the dowels, tigheten the bellhousing bolts causing aligment issues. did you replace the pilot bushing/bearing? it's not what you want to hear, but most likely it's all gonna have to come back out.
