86 4Runner turbo diff upgrade?

86 4Runner turbo diff upgrade?
What is the actual difference between the 2 rear ends? Is it worth it to upgrade a 22re equipped 4Runner to the turbo model rear end for more strength or is it not really an issue to worry about?

Didn't exactly find in a search what im looking for. I should have been more clear in my question I apologize.
It appears both the above mentioned diff models have a 8" ring gear and would only require me changing out the 3rd member to the "beefier" turbo model version.
Im just making sure that my assumption is correct as Im thinking about getting one from Marlin with an electric locker

V6/turbo diffs are the same.
They are beefier than the 4 cyl diff.
Most people call them V6 and 4 cyl diff, no one really calls them "turbo" diffs.

Hope you realize it's not a simple remove third, install third if you're swapping in an elocker. You'll have to cut the housing, drill and tap 4 holes, and weld some material on to get a full gasket surface. I didn't do any welding on mine, but it is advised by most. Then wire it or buy a kit from somebody. I like my 12voltguy wiring and switch kit, and I think LowRange is offering one now.

I don't doubt he's a good dude and can tell he has a lot of knowledge just waiting to be tapped by those of us just starting out.
Sometimes info from someone who has been there and done that is better than what I usually find via a search especially when it comes to the minute tedious details that may get glossed over in other threads by those that think its obvious and not worth mentioning.

If you have an angle grinder, drill, bits, get ahold of a thread tapping kit, and you have the space and time to have your vehicle down for a day or 3, you can do it yourself. You can even install it, manually unlock it, and drive with it like that until you can get the wiring kit or wire it yourself. There are far better write ups on here than I could give you from doing mine, so search for "elocker retrofit" or something along those lines.
