How much trimming, if any, will I need to put 32's on my 1989 yota 4wd? will there be rubbing? The body isnt lifted, the truck is mainly stock... and what does a body lift go for these days?

I have a 1990 4wd runner and i didnt do a thing to make my 32's fit with stock suspension heights. Depending on what kind of off-roading you do you might get some rubbing. Deep ruts, and alot of suspension flex on one side will cause some rubbing. Looks great though, and runs well on snow and sand with a good tire. Just make sure your wheels have the correct offset.

I ran 32s on 15x8s for a while on an 85 before I lifted - they rubbed even during street driving, but only if I wanted to turn sharp... Offroad was really bad. Took 3 1/2" of lift (and pound in the pinch weld) to get em to quit.

I just went to 32X11.5x15's Cooper Discover STT's. I had to trim the plastic off about 3" and pound the pinch weld flat about 3 to 4 inches from the bottom! No more rubbing even @ full compression. The rear stuff inside the fender well without any rubbing as well. I went from a 15x7 4.75 backspacing to a 15x7 3.75 backspacing! Best thing I ever did, besides installing a locker in the front!

15x7 with 3.75 backspacing would equal what backspacing on a 15x8 rim???

Pretty decent rubbing on my P/U. Cranked up the t-bars 1.5" and put extended shackles on, and the rubbing is gone, and the ride height is even

When I first put them on my 95 they didn't rub too bad I guess. I ended up cranking up the tbars about an inch for soem more clearance and they only rubbed when I was turning and hit a bump or just about all the time offroading.

A 3"bl stopped all of that though. They don't rub at all now.

Acceleraion absolutely sucks though. I'm finally sick of it and next year I am:

1. Getting a new truck
2. Putting new gears in the one I have or
3. Dropping a V8 in the one I have

I'm finally sick of being a slow pig... Its time to do something.
