1988 4x4 Exhaust Replacement
I haven't even started yet, but I've come to find out that I need to replace my exhaust system (There's a hole in the stock system just underneath the drivers seat)
Anyway. I figured, I'm replacing it, so what the hell, might as well go for something that looks nice, since I intend on restoring this truck to showroom condition anyway. So I want something that looks nice, sounds nice, but isn't over the top. And maybe even beefs up the performance a tiny bit. Anyway. Any suggestions? Directions to websites that can help me out?
Also...I'm pretty sure this exhaust system is simply bolted onto the side of the engine, (from what I could see) but someone asked me if I was sure it was not welded on. So far everything else seems amazingly easy to fix on this truck, so I can't imagine this is something I HAVE to get a mechanic to do. Anyway. my rig is a 1988 toyota 4x4 EFI 22re.

might try this
I used a cherry bomb turbo(autozone), wanted something cheap that didn't sound like a rice rocket... My cat was already gutted so i just cut off the old muffler welded in the new one and was done. Don't sound half bad either....Hope this helps.

IMO you can't beat the sound of a Flowmaster 40, but they're expensive (not my video):

There are a couple Flowmaster knockoffs you can buy though, if you can't afford the original 40. Summit has a decent 40 copy, and they also have a good selection of other exhaust hardware.
EDIT: don't know why two vids are coming up.

I love the sound of that Flowmaster 40. Good suggestion there. I'll probably have to go with a knockoff of it so I won't be able to afford much.
was that 150 dollars just for the exhaust assy. and all that?
