starter solenoid wire?
Can anyone tell where the starter solenoid wire (yellow/black on my 22re 85 PU) originates from? I am getting low volatage (12.1V at the wire and 12.9V at the batt.) The problem I'm having is the solenoid wire goes hot at the on position which means I can't run a relay because the solenoid would stay constantly energized and the the truck cranks at the on possition. I found the wire in the passenger kick but I can't figure out where it goes from there. I am worried that this could lead to a battery drain if I don't figure out why the solenoid wire is hot at on. any idea's?

I don't follow your description, but my relay install was straightforward.
Assuming that you are just measuring volts-to-ground (not the more esoteric "voltage drop"), 12.9V to 12.1V is hardly "low voltage"; mine was something like 4 volts at the starter! 'Won't hurt to install a relay, though.
