Front got crushed in pretty good, so the dove nose job will probably go down this weekend, and I'm not a big fan of hi-lift jacks in the front anyway (but I think you were joking). I was lucky to get a headlight back in, had to pull out the body with the trusty come along.

I have about 6 sticks of the 1 1/4 sch 40 @ $35 a stick, and some random 2x2 .120 wall for the flat bed frame. The rear cross member where the lights are is 2x3 1/4" wall, burly. Total cost is probably right around $300 with the lights, so not too bad. And yes, I wheel a little more out of hand knowing that I have protection, not only for me, but for my truck, too. Since I already tweaked the cage a bit, and tried to straighten it with no luck I'm just going to cross brace it like I should have before wheeling it, and hammer it into the ground. When it gets totally destroyed I'll cut it all off and turn this truck into a full-on buggy, no original body at all. I can't wait. I'll get a JD2 bender for that project, but I might still use sch 40 depending on how I like the long term effects on this cage. 4 flops, 3 broken motor mounts, 1 tool box, and 1 frightened girl friend = tons of fun!

Wow, what a blast from the past! I was looking up dove nose pics on google and came across this. The truck lived of for a few more seasons, I added a 4 runner floor and rear seats. It was a lot of fun, but no longer street legal, and very heavy. Here it was towards the end.
