That's a nice rig!
Does it have a little lift already or is that just the tires?
And just curious but what r your intentions for it? Like do u wanna make it a crawler?
That kinda changes things when deciding suspension and gearing...

Oh ok.
And how big of tires would u like to run?
If it were me I would probably do 35's with 4:88 gears and just lift shackles of u want it to be an everyday driver, with some off set rims so u don't rub to much.
That's just small stuff but I hope that helps a little...
Do u want lockers also? Or not yet?

Yah i was kinda thinkin like 3 or 5 inch springs with shakles with 35's i want to get rid of the body lift n yah i see everyone putting 529 gears just don't really know the difference

It's really all preference. 4:88 would be good for an every day driver. 5:29 u might struggle on the highway. But that's just my opinion.
I like deaver springs but u could find some old Chevy ones too. There are a lot of options for your truck. That's y I love all toyotas. Lol

if you do 5 inch springs you will need to change the steering. i like my 4.88 with 33s but i would run 5.29s if i had 35s. 4.88s would make it to fast in the woods.IMO. if your geared correctly you wont need to spend as much on tires cause youll rely less on a heavy foot and digging through the dirt. could get away with some used mud terrians. again IMO. and a lunch box locker up front would go a long way

With a 5 inch lift u might wanna get either a new rear driveshaft or just change the pitch of your rear diff...that's just how I feel though...it's better to be safe then sorry. I would just change the pitch though if u want to save money.
And as far as extending...steering is important. And get a high steer pitman arm. Those r great when lifted that high. Brake lines u should get steel braded with the plastic coating. those seem to do really well on all the rigs I have seen. And then if u are going to keep your sway bar then u need new end links....there is more just at the moment I'm kinda blank... I'll think of some more as we continue to talk. I hope I have been at least a little helpful

a 5 inch lift on 35s would suck to daily drive. i have a truck that is just for offroad and it has a 5 inch on 36s and its a bitch to get in and out of. and doesnt ride nice compared to my daily driver. which is an ifs 1st gen 4runner on 33s.

i would suggest getting the write tool for the job. get a daily driver. and a woods rig. it sucks when you go wheeling and then the next 2 weeks your steering is all jacked up stuff doesnt work and brakes. Its nice not to have to worry about that stuff and have fun but also be practical.

go with a 5in lift, 33x12.50 or 34in tires since its going to be a every day drive you dont was to be to big. 5.29 gears let you go 65mph at 3000rpms so i would go with 4.88 gears if you want to go alitle faster 75mph at 3000rpms. its an old truck so i recomend a master rebuild kit from lce paformance as well a k&n airfilter. Trail gear hy-steer and really anything else need to be your own ideas or plans or else the build isnt going to be as fun

I had 33x10.5's on my '83 with the sagged out stock front springs, and they never rubbed after a touch of massaging at the pinch weld. For a little while I had some used, sagged out Downey 3" springs in the front which were probably only putting me 1.5" above original stock, but a little over 2" from the sagged out stockers, and I think I could've fit 33x12.5's with the added clearance.
In my experience, no need to go sky high and stiffen the suspension up with 5" springs to fit 33's or 35's on a mild rig that's also daily driven. I don't know the exact dimension differences between my '83's fenders and yours, but I'll bet it's not much.

LOL 5" lift and 33s is going to look like its running on stilts, im running 4-5" lift on my 86 with 35s and i can flex it hard and not rub, its got TG V6 springs minus a leaf in the front with the SAS kit, than shackles and a procomp bastard pack in the rear. For steering high steer is a must. Being '85 i would suggest running spacers [1"-1.5"] or some serious offset to clear 35s. Also running 5.29s being pushed by a stock 22re and i can run 120kmh[75mph] down the freeway all day long.
