Mine is 25 years old now, so no smog test for me. They don't do a visual test here either. As long as it passes smog they don't care. I do know some people are buying an adapter so you can keep the original air filter. I don't know how in depth the inspections you have to go through, but that might be your solution. Can't really see the carb with that big filter on there.

Tuning
WSUWeston,
Well I have had mine on for a couple months too and I still am not satisfied with the tune. I also had to machine the adapter to be able to fit my Offy intake. The throttle arm hit the adapter. If you are in Pullman and need machining/fab help let me know, I'll see what I can do. 30 mi. south here in Clarkston.

i have the 34/34 and have been tuning it for months finally just bought a a/f meter and its much easier. Just got the truck in the ball park but in need of a a much larger idle jet. I think my main issue with tuning has been i have a fully ported intake and 20r head with full free flowing exhaust.

So if I ordered a weber carb from somewhere specific, would I need any other parts to go with it or are they usually complete? What would be something to go with it? Like an air intake...

I run Weber 32/36s on both my Yotas and have for several years. They are GREAT carbs for these trucks. Where I live I see temps from single digits in winter to high 90s with humidity to match during the summer and the only thing I've ever had to do is to make a minor adjustment to the air/fuel mixture, and that was more for personal preference than necesssity.
I can also tell you that I do NOT run a pressure regulator or electric FP on either of them. They both run perfect with the stock mechanical FP.
