Transfer case output shaft

My 1982 transfer case output shaft has some movement to it. I was checking my u-joints and noticed it when moving the drive line up and down. Is it normal for movement or would this be a bad bearing. I have to pull the tranny to change out the top plate that holds the shift forks but just wondering if this should be addressed or its normal

No, it shouldn't do that. It's probably somewhat normal for a truck so old...but it's not supposed to do it.
