Thanks for all the compliments, I'm definitely very happy with it. Some of the best money I've ever spent, hopefully. My thoughts of lifting mostly went away with the new tires. The old tires fit on my Ford Escort, so they weren't really truck tires at all. I was thinking Add a Leaf in the back and turning the torsion bars in front for a 1-2" overall lift, but now I'm happy. Will just drive as is for a while.

I bet you would be happier witha 5-speed. lol, fun project and worth while too. Nicer to drive and better milage, If you drove it right you could get about 28-30mpg I bet. I get 24 driving like a maniac.

What kind of milage are you getting? Does the trans shift smoothly still? I guess it does only have 50k on though lol.

You are right, I would have preferred a stick but this truck was so pretty that I just couldn't pass it up because of the auto tranny.

As far as mileage I don't know yet, just filled it up for the first time yesterday. The shifts are very smooth. I have heard the early Toyota autos have a "gutless" feeling compared to their manual counterparts, which seems to be true although I've never driven a 22R manual. Maybe down the road when the auto dies I'll switch it over... for now, .
