mine is 2.5 from the header past the cat, then drops to 2.25 from there through the muffler, and I'm running about 3-3.5 feet of tube after the muffler and i think it sounds absolutely perfect. nicely deep and throaty when you mash on it without screaming, and it's got a nice lumpy cough at idle. doesn't seem to have the drone effect that a lot of other mufflers have either.

this is what the muffler looks like:

was $40.
wow, that sounds sweet! i like how deep and mellow it is, but you don't here the screaming gerbil over the top of it.

i have a stock-like muffler, i can't hear the exhaust at all and i'm tired of hearing that gerbil scream at higher rpms.

i know what's next on my list.

got My muffler from Austin's Pro-Max on 56th and south Tacoma way in tacoma for $39.00
It's an imitation cherry bomb turbo. 2,25 in. headman header and stainless tip out behind
rear wheel. Barks a little but is mellow on the highway. can hardly hear it over my b f g's.

My 85 is registered in a county without emission checks so I cut off the pipe before the cat and put on a standard cherry bomb. it only stretches halfway across the door but its not as loud as you may think but ive been told it sounds like a cummins at full throttle haha

i have recently changed my exhaust and i love it to death it sounds amazing and is deep and loud.

i have my el cheepo pacesetter header that i powder coated orange myself to 2 and 1/8 piping to a flowmaster 40 series, then i have a Y-pipe and daul exhaust off of that which is 2 1/4 pipes.

it sounds amazing and turns many heads a lot of people dont believe me when i tell them its still a 22r, and my friends say it sounds sexy and they all mud with V8's, but my truck is by far the loudest
