EXTREMELY rough idle, caused be cooling issue?
yesterday noticed the temp gauge slowly moving up, and found the lower radiator hose was leaking from a small crack. baby'd the pickup to the auto store as well as possible to grab a new hose and coolant. when i turned the key back to shut her off, it dieseled really bad, and the old hose was dumping fluid. changed out the hose and fluid, and shes being cooled wonderfully. however, it absolutely will not idle, and has a rough time accelerating out of a dead stop. so i plan on running across the street to get the timing checked. would the cooling problem and dieseling possibly lead to the idle issue? or am i looking past a more probable problem? please and thank you in advance.

Is that something that could have been caused by the heating issue though? If not, it would be a major coincidence for that to have happened in the same 10 minutes as the initial coolant problem. Thanks for the input either way, at least I have something to jot down on the checklist!
