Big Bear 7/29 - 31/2011
Me and a bunch of friends went up the mountain to get some good wheeling in.
Since my girlfriend is in town, I wanted her to come wheeling and camping and I wanted her to meet my friends. Mission accomplished and trip was pretty damn successful.
We arrived in Arrowhead around 4 on friday and set out to wheel Dishpan.
We had 5 trucks at that point.
A creek at the beginning of dishpan:
Friday night we camped on keller peak in a yellow post site
Stuffed peppers I cooked:
Saturday morning we went and ran holcomb creek.
After holcomb we had lunch and headed to John Bull. We ran Bull backwards due to where holcomb ends.
During the second half of Bull we ran into a group of 3 jeeps who all had no lockers and street tires.
The first one going up the bowl obstacle didn't have recovery points, so the axle was the next best option
Then we headed down
After John bull we headed south of baldwin lake to Tip Top mountain and camped out there.
A sunset I'll never forget:
We proceeded to get wasted and pass the time.
Sunday morning we headed down to rattlesnake canyon en route to Mottino wash.
Andrew, John, and Jason all took off leaving only Bill and myself to wheel up mottino. I think with just the two of us we were through that trail in about 1.25 hours.
Only picture I got on mottino
After mottino I headed south on burns canyon road which took me through pioneer town and into Yucca valley.
Good trip. Pretty successful. I probably logged about 50+ miles of dirt.

Inspected the rig....Here is the carnage report
1. Ripped off drivers side rear wheel trim on John Bull. Was lazy and thought the slider would save me. Didn't. Not at all.
2. Bent driver's side lower link. No biggie. Didn't realize this till I got home but was wondering why the rear end was shaking at 80mph.
NO BROKEN CVs
