Designed for serious off-roaders, Geolandar M/T G003 tires go on sale on July 1, but one lucky YotaTech reader will get a set of tires on the house.

A good set of off-roading tires can be the difference between enjoying an outdoor trip and hating one. For off-roading enthusiasts that have wanted to experience what a real, purpose-built set of tires can do, Yokohama‘s new tire fits the bill. The company recently introduced a new set of rubber for serious off-roaders called the Geolandar M/T G003 and now they want to give away four of those awesome tires to a YotaTech reader — that’s you!

The tire, as Yokohama proudly proclaims, is “designed for hardcore off-roaders, outdoor enthusiasts, and pick-up truck/SUV owners” and is the newest addition to the company’s popular Geolandar line of tires. The rubber, at least initially, will be available in 37 sizes, which range from 15- to 20-inch rim diameters and will go on sale on July 1.

Besides having the sinister look of a proper off-road tire, the Geolandar M/T G003 has a bespoke triple-polymer compound and Yokohama’s Geo-Shield technology, which incorporates steel belts, numerous sidewall piles, a high turn-up carcass, and a full nylon cap. The result, according to Fardad Niknam, Director of Development at Yokohama, is a set of rubber that has eight percent longer tread life, is quieter, and offers better braking performance than the competition.

“The M/T has it all: intimidating good looks, superior strength, proven performance, and excellent traction in all on- and off-road terrains, from everyday highway driving to attacking steep, jagged rocks; muddy trails and desert sand,” says Andrew Briggs, Yokohama’s Director of Product Planning.

To help celebrate the launch of the new Geolandar M/T G003, Yokohama has teamed with YotaTech to give away a set of four tires to one lucky reader. And entering your name into the giveaway is as easy as posting to the YotaTech forum. All you have to do is post in this YotaTech thread a photo of your car off-roading or in another outdoor environment. Be sure to get your picture posted soon because the giveaway, which started on June 20, ends on June 30.

Individuals with capable off-roaders, especially the lucky winner of the new set of tires, will be able to put their vehicles to the test on July 22 when Yokohama and YotaTech will host an off-road event called “Climb the Falls” in Austin, Texas. To sign up for the event, head over here.
