Stunning Bespoke Fifth-Gen Toyota Hilux Packs a Punch!

By -

588 HP and custom from roof to tire, this classic Hilux reminds us why unique builds are so impressive.

We don’t mind seeing as many awesome builds as possible when it comes to classic Toyota trucks. There is something about these minis and the unconventional things people do with them that continues to impress us. Sure, I might be biased as a Hilux owner myself, but this is YotaTech, that’s what we are here for. Now, well be honest. You won’t be taking this fifth-gen out on the trail. Hell, it barely looks like it could clear a modest speed bump. The thing is, this truck was never fooling anybody to thinking it was going to be functional.

This mini is definitely more a show build that anything else. However, what really caught our attention is the execution of the details in this sweet build. Thanks to Super Street on Instragram, we get to see some amazing pictures of this Hilux and damn does it look good.

It’s safe to say that the most glaringly obvious modification to this Toyota is the Nissan SR20DET 4-cylinder turbo from a JDM Silvia. This engine definitely gives it the style points it desperately needs. A big turbo with a blast pipe coming straight up out the hood is definitely fitting for this build. The matching blue valve cover and intake manifold along with the silicon couples look so clean you could eat off them.

How did they get this engine to fit in the little bay? Well, the whole front end has been converted to a tube-frame chassis. This makes removing the whole front clip of the car something that can be done in a matter of minutes. With this front end is custom true coilovers along with what seem to be modified steering knuckles and extended lower control arms. While the truck might not be the ideal drift chassis, we are sure it can throw down entering a corner.

Obviously in line with the build, slamming this truck to the ground was a necessity. This combo does work well the pretty white 3-piece wheels with gold hardware. Just when you thought it couldn’t get more interesting, the bed of the truck brings new surprises. Well, the bed has actually been cut out completely. In its place sit a tubed rear-end. Mounting to this custom frame is a fuel cell and rear-mounted radiator. Who ever built this truck definitely has spent some time drifting. Obviously, there is a completely custom suspension setup as well including a cantilever coilover setup. Did we mention that the wheels hardware and suspension components are color-matching? I’ll say one thing, after seeing this truck, I want to build another one.
