A new teaser shows that the stars at night are big and bright, deep in the heart of the 2022 Toyota Tundra.

There’s a new teaser video for the eagerly anticipated 2022 Toyota Tundra, and it’s giving fans even more reasons to be excited about the company’s big rig. In the short — meaning just 17 seconds — clip, we get a great view of a massive dual-pane moon roof. From what I can tell, it looks like the front section will open, while the back portion will stay fixed, which is a pretty standard setup.  But whether it’s open or not, it should give the cabin of the truck an expansive, premium feel.

Of course, that’s not the only thing the latest bit of info reveals, as we also get to see the power rear window in action. This looks to be the CrewMax cab, and we’ll have to wait and see whether this trick bit of kit will make it to double cab versions as well. As someone who generally defaults to windows down/heat on when I’m driving, I love the idea of increased ventilation, and there are even more practical considerations as well. Because since the CrewMax bed is shorter, dropping the window can make it easier to carry long pieces of lumber.

Looking a little closer at the video, there’s also the red leather interior, and matching red seat belts to consider. That makes me suspect we’re seeing a new range-topping trim level, and it makes me wonder what other goodies are on the way. After all, Toyota still has three more teasers scheduled to drop before the official reveal of the Tundra in the fall, and you can bet marketing wants to highlight all the coolest new features right before the floodgates open. Of course, this protracted rollout comes with the risk of leaks, so who knows when will get more intel on the truck.

So to recap, we’ve already seen an official front three-quarter shot, a teaser pic of the — apparently — V6 power plant, and I’m crossing my fingers that a twin-turbo V8 monster is in the mail. Admittedly, that’s a bit of a stretch? But given the frenzied state of the high-end truck segment right now, I don’t think it’s all that far out of the realm of possibility.  I do think one of the next teasers will show some kind of innovative tailgate features, because that’s an area where we’re seeing considerable focus right now. Stay tuned for more updates on the 2022 Toyota!
