Oh yeah, I have a Pioneer deck that was $100 new, a JL 10" in a box and a 300W Visonic amp for $150 from a pawn shop, and a $10 wiring kit. Installed it my self and it sounds really good.

$700! Yeah your getting raped. Have you tried pawn shops yet? You should be able to get way more bang for your buck there. You can get a wiring kit which usually includes the power and remote wires...

We gotta start somewhere. Would be nice to get shown by someone who knows what there doing, but how tough can it be. Worst case if I render it useless I'll use BCAA and get it towed to the shop.

Thanks for the advice guys, hopefully the FSM will show me what the crank shaft is and how to turn it. I'm sure I will be back when I actually get the time to do this.
