I didn't have to weld anything to install them. Jacked the truck up, removed the leafs and blocks from the lift kit, then installed the new springs. Yeah, there were issues with the shackles but I figured it out myself. Ride height is about the same with 600 lbs in the back as the old springs and blocks were when empty. I'd guess about 4" lift total.

Greasable shackles may be a good thing to get. Urethane bushings tend to stick and squeak if they can't spin.

I didn't have to cut or weld anything to put the 33311's in my 88.

Not sure how much faith you put in websites but Summit Racing lists the 33311's for 105 + 7.50 shipping each (need two so double that ;)): http://www.summitracing.com/parts/EX...n/?prefilter=1

Sweet! I am looking for a cheap way other than blocks to get about 4 to 5 inches of lift in the rear so I don't mind if they are a little stiff. Does it require any cutting or welding, I read on one form for a different set of springs that they shackle mounts had to be moved. Do you think the shims are sufficient enough to reduce the angle of the axle? Would you recommend getting some greasable shackles as well since yours were a little troubling? How much lift did you get out of yours? I know its a lot of questions but I cant afford to make a mistake, because I am on a limited budget... Do you have any other recommendations or warnings about doin this? Are there any additional parts necessary or do the springs come with everything? Thanks a ton!

I have a 1987 4runner, and I am hoping that the pro comp 33311 leafs would fit the rear end without modifiactions. I noticed that you mentioned yours has those leafs. Will they actually fit? I am so interested because they cost half as much as the pro comp TR60 that are "designed" for the 87'. I hope to hear back from you soon, because I am trying to order a lift today or tomorrow! Thanks.
