New Trillian is out

http://www.ceruleanstudios.com/downloads/

Just installed it over the old one, and this one has way more options.
It has voice chat and vid caht for those who own a webcam.

As always, Trillian contains no pop up ads like AOL's Instant Messenger.

so from what i can tell, instead of having AIM, YAHOO, ICQ, and MSN messengers, you can use this thing and it works on all of them ?? IF thats correct, if i download it, can i delete the others from my computer, to save space ?

Yes, this Trillian can replace all your other chat clients.
Before you uninstall them, make sure you can setup Trillian to work correctly first.

I use to use AOL IM, but the last version was spyware and put ads on my desktop when I fired it up.

To heck with that, Trillian is far better.

It has voice chat, but it is grayed out on my end.
I must have to connect with someone who has this 3.0 version or AOL IM and a mic.
Then it may not be grayed out for me.

I do not know anyone with a mic that has this version or a version of AOL IM to test it with.

Wish I had a webcam, but I do not.

Oh, it also made me download QuickTime in order to use the vid conferencing feature.
Since I did not have QT on the rig yet, I went ahead and let it DL and install it for me.

File transfer is much better, but the video chat is a bit flakey depending on what camera you're using. There was a "break through" over the weekend with getting video chat to work, but it hasn't yet been seen as a cureall.

Here's the key "my video doesn't work" thread:
http://www.ceruleanstudios.com/forum...threadid=63929

Note that Video chat is ONLY in the Pro version (i.e., $$$). The free version does not support video.

RicNic: Like Corey said, it will take the place of everything you have and give you one common interface for it all. I've been using it for years with AIM, MSN, Yahoo, & ICQ.

Also, there are a bunch of cool plugins available... Weather, spellchecker, stock quotes, CD controller...

read this on the trillian rating on CNET user reviews.

"The old Trillian 0.74i allowed the option of signing onto Trillian. The NEW Trillian 3.0 automatically logs onto Trillian, no password required, and signs into your Yahoo E-Mail, thus anyone bringing up Trillian 3.0 will have access to your Yahoo E-Mail. Even if you opt not to sign into Yahoo IM on start-up, once you sign into Yahoo IM with Trillian, your E-mail is logged into also with the option of ""Remembering the Password"". So even after logging off the computer, the next person logging on has access to your Yahoo E-Mail accout..... Bad, Bad, Bad !!!!! "
