You get used to avoiding it when you get in and out. It's not that bad, but the control are tough to reach when you drive. Other than that, I really liked it there.

Yeah I remember mounting a switch right next to the steering column and nailing my knee every time I got in there. I finally ripped it off of the dash and mounted it right next to the clutch start cancel switch. Anywho, I'll mock it up and mount it with rope first, just to get an idea of what it will be like. I may have to extent the cig lighter power cord to reach, but that shouldn't be a problem. I also have a power cord I can hard wire. Thanks for the idea.

I am partial to the glovebox area.
Ran it that way in the '91 4Runner, and it is in the same place in the new rig.

No interference with passengers legs, and I can reach the controls fairly easy too.

I guess that will be the next place I try it. How do you like the CB anyway? I haven't had a chance to try it out yet.

I improvised, cut, beat on, and bent for 2 hours and came up with this:

This thing barely fits here. At least I've got it 1/2 way mounted.

Nope can't push it any more, it took me about an hour and a half to get it back that far. I can get it into first but it rubs the mic wire, then settles about an inch away. I told yall it was huge! I really didn't want to mount it anywhere just casue it's so purty. The shell is to compensate for the 3" body lift
