What amp do you have under the seats in your 3rd Gen 4runner?
I need to mount my amps under my front seats but I'm not sure what will fit. I'd like a couple amps, a 4x40 watts and a 1x 150 watts. I'm flexible on those figures.
Please post the make & model # of the amp you put under the seat and if it was the drivers or passenger seat. I've gotta figure out what amps to buy! Old school is kool.
Thanks!
ps. if you have one for sale that you know fits under the seat, then feel free to PM me a price shipped to Austin, TX!

I have to go out to the garage and see what amps i have laying around and get some measurements but i may have something that will work for you. as far as new stuff, polk has a new line at best buy that isnt priced too steep. and the amps are pretty small. also alpine makes some pretty small amps. there are several brands out there that will work im just going off what i install/see on a daily basis. do you have rear heater controls in your rig? if so you most likely wont be able to get anything under the pass. side due to the vents under the seat. be careful under the seats though because its a common place that stays wet when you have a leak such as bad sindshield seal, rusting drain plugs etc. i found that out the hard way when the line driver i had under the wifes 97runner driver seat stopped working due to the water that was staying in the carpet from a bad drain plug.

Alpine does have some smallish Class D amps. About 1" too deep for my tastes though.
Yeah, I have the rear heater. There is no room under the passenger for even a small amp.

do 2nd gens count?
Under the driver seat, i have a kenwood 1000w 2 channel amp, bridged to 2 type R subwoofers.
under the passenger seat i have an apline 450w 4 channel amp bridged to all of my speakers...
i'd list model numbers and such but they are close to 4-6 years old now.

Under your passenger seat should be deeper than your drivers and under the passenger i store two jockfard fosgate(not sure the spelling sorry) 2ch 325watt amps in which i highly recommend because the true power is much higher. I have two kicker comp 15s being pushed by them

I'm just looking for power. If it has a crossover, then that is a bonus. But it's not needed.
Can't put anything under the passenger front seat of some 3rd gens. Some (like mine) have a rear heater unit under the seat. No space left over!
I went ahead and listed my Earthquake amps for sale.
Just so you guys can see what I'm coming from. I want to consolidate all this into one compact amp, even if it means less power & quality.

I ended up going with a cadence 5 channel amp that i have behind the passenger side rear cargo panel. it powers the front 6.5" components, the rear 5.25" coaxials and also powers a kicker L7 8" sub. The hardest part was getting the amp mounted. alpine recently released an add on amp that makes all of there head units a true 45 watts per channel. its basically a plug and play unit. one end is a female alpine plug, the other a male. basically unplug your alpine head unit, put this in line and away you go. http://www.alpine-usa.com/product/view/ktp-445 I have installed several of these and they are pretty decent little amps.
