Scosche TA02B does NOT match the pins from a 98 4runner stock wiring harness
I have a 98 runner, and was trying to install a sony 7715. After taking out the stock unit (tape only), I discovered that the scosche TA02B wiring harness does NOT match with the pins from stock wiring harness. I looked at the wiring diagram posted either here or installdr, and it seems my runner has a different pin layout from the others. Here is the pin layout from the stock wiring harness (female end--for lack of better words):
1st one

second one:

Pin layout of TA02B:

Is there a different wiring harness adaptor I need to buy? If so, what model?
Just wanted to check with you guys before I cut the stock wiring harness.
Thanks a lot!

edikp, thank you for spending time looking it up for me.
i spent an hour digging around, and found out that the other end of the stock wiring harness was connected to a device (don't know exactly what it is, maybe converter?--haven't had time to check it out) where two factory wiring harnesses connected to. i yanked out the "converter", and the two wiring harness matched ta02b perfectly.
i don't know why the "converter" was there, if anyone can explain what it does, that would be great!
thanks to all.

98,
you should definitely search around the site, including the tech section. i have a writeup on how to do exactly what you are trying to do in the tech section under the "electrical" subforum of the tech section

98 - I know you got it installed, however I would suggest trying to integrate the factory amp. Reason being nothing sucks like a deck's amp. A metra 808112 amplifer integration harness would work beautifully, the only requirements are that your deck have 2 sets of RCA jacks.
