cb antenna for fm radio

ok so my crappy antenna mount on my pickup got all floppy, so i took it off and bought a universal from napa. it worked for about 2 weeks, and now, it sticks straight out and pokes people. while that is pretty funny to watch, it bugs me, and i want an alternative solution.

after having no luck with finding a oem replacement, i started to look at mouting a cb antenna in its place.

im thinking of using one of these: http://www.walcottcb.com/firestik-ar...ter-p-221.html

and mounting a 2ft firestik with this on the fender where the original hole is: http://www.walcottcb.com/firestik-mk...ing-p-604.html

now i already have a 4ft firestik for my cb, so the 2ft wont be connected to a cb, just to the radio. and my question is, how will the radio perform using this method?

firestik has a splitter that lets you use your CB antenna for CB AND AM/FM...they claim there is no loss in reception.
