Swing by your local Circuit city and ask for a MET 88008000. This is the universal toyota pocket. You will also need a MET 801761 for the car side harness, and then a radio side harness. CCs harnesses are THE way to go period.

Toyota has never used a non standard antenna, so yes this should be all ya need.

Met 88008000 (single din dash pocket)
Met 801761 (car side harness)
Met ***80 (see below this is the radio side harness)

The radio side harness is going to be different for whatever radio you have.
Pioneer (met PR0180)
Panasonic (met PA1080)
Sony (met SY1680A)
Alpine (met AL1680A)
Jensen (met OP1680A)

You could pop in a "din" pocket, as previously suggested, or try picking up a passive EQ to put in there; switching array (for fogs/driving lights, etc.); CB; hard wired radar detector, etc., etc., the possibilities are nearly endless.

I put a pocket in there....after 4 years I got bored with the pocket, and bought some 1/8" plexi, cut it to perfect size with a foot shear, painted one side flat black. This was then glued to the face of the metra pocket giving a beautiful black plexi look. Later I added switches to this face.

well i never got around to doing the install just yet, but i do have a 2nd idea...im still going to be using the aftermarket cd player, but do you guys think that 3, 2-1/16" Auto Meter Guages will fit underneath the cd payer instead of using the dim pocket? i know that there is enough horiztontal room, but do you think there will be enough vertical room? considering you guys probably have a dim pocket, could someone measure how much room is there to work with underneath the cd player?

damn thats plenty...excuse my question but the afermarket cd player will bolt up to the stock brackets meaning i would only need to buy the car side harness since i already have the radio side harness?

no.

The the circuit city harness require no soldering and no butt connectors! So you'd need both harnesses if you went that route.

If you feel like spending 30 minutes soldering the radio's harness to the car side harness, then sure...but why when it would take you all of 30 seconds to do it with the CC harnesses.

As far as gauges fitting, I have measured the double din openings on a toyota - they are exactly 4" tall.... You'd have a very very tight fit.

There's a kit for this, if it has'nt been mentioned here already, that I know you can find out all about if you simply type "CD install" in the Search window, not to mention postings of several different ideas for that "din" space with pictures and all, although the Auto Meter guages is a pretty good one.

I used the pocket but added a CPU fan to help with cooling. I use it to expel the warm air from behind the dash into the cab. I mirrored the bottom so I could see the LED's since the fan runs so silent I would be unable to tell if it was running without putting my hand in front of it.

Sooo, you used one of those "gerble wheel" type of fans that would normally mount into an ISA expansion slot on the back of the tower??
