WAAAHHHOOOOO!

It is no longer a "pre-runner", it's a 4x4 again AND We just did a mini-night run up Tinkham to shake it down...

We are doing and inspection now, but based upon the clean bill of health during the run and the results of the inspection, we are declaring it DONE!

...and there was much rejoicing

You are correct, we are already planning for more...

Perhaps I should say that we are a major milestone where we are going to take a break and regroup before moving on, instead of "done".

I see another Carbonado trip, the 4ROC brand stump in the road should provide good flex shots... =)

I didn't want one of the loading dock flex pictures that everyone uses, so hang in there just a bit longer. This weekend it's going to see some real trail time and my hope is to get some current photos for avatars, sig pics and so I can update my site

I got a hold of Jess at High Angle Driveline. Since it's a hybrid with a square Toyota flange in the back and a Jeep u-joint in the front, a couple of places I called told me they wouldn't touch it. Jess heard what I needed and said "no problem".

I got a booted, long travel with a CV (double cardon) at the transfer case and a standard, heavy duty u-joint at the diff end. His price ended up being better than the other guys anyway and he got it done and shipped to me in like two days.

Jess is the man! If you supply the u-joints a long travel shaft from him is usually ~$250 which includes a new long travel slip joint.

Because I had him build from scratch, rather than extend my existing drivshaft, it was pricey, close to $500.

It's capable of doing 32" fully extended and I use most of that travel. Compressed length is 25".

Well it's been a while since I last took a look at this thread but from the looks of it, it looks like it's done.

ROB, whenever you come to AZ, let me know. I'd love to check out that rig.
