AWESOME. I'll be following this as I just got myself some duals, but I'm going to put 4.7s in and swap over to a 23 spline coupler myself and use LONGFIELD's new chromoly output shaft...2 times as strong as stock.

Hey Dingman I checked out your site. Nice job on the body work and paint. I hope mine turns out as nice.
My plan at this point is to get it mechanically ready to wheel by fall and attack all the body work this winter.
Where do you live in Iowa?

Well the challenge has been laid down. I need to get up and running by the end of September, actually the first of Septmeber to go through some breakin.
Our TLCA club is hosting a national TLCA event at the end of September.

Update
What a pain.
In order to replace the 21-spline input shaft with the 23-spline shaft you pretty much have to tear down most of the transfer case.
What was weird is that there were no gaskets between each of the tc housings.
I need to have the bearing removed from the old shaft and installed on the new.
For stuff like this I usually stop by the dealer for an oil change on the Sequoia and ask one of the mechanics if they can swap them out. They typically do it for no charge.
Here are a couple of pics.

Sorry for slow reply, I'm just - well, slow.
I live in Des Moines and mostly wheel near Knoxville.
Thanks for the compliments on mine, it's not bad, but I could have done better. If I don't smash up the body this year, I'll paint it again this winter (properly) and I'm also going to dupli-color the bottom third like that grey '85 runner that you may have seen on my website.

Holy Cr*p! I can't believe it was July when I posted my last update...YIKES.
NOTE: I will get the photos on this thread taken care of in the next couple of weeks. The server they were on went down.
Well needless to say I have made a little progress.
I finished building the crawl box and mounted it up to the tranny.
I pulled the auto tranny and installed the 5sp (w56). I went with the BudBuilt crossmember.
I pulled the rear axle and sandblasted/primed/painted the housing.
Had 5.29's and Aussie installed and reassembled rear axle.
Tomorrow night I will be tacking up the new spring hangers for the Marlin 5" Springs.
Once thats complete I need to have the driveshafts rebuilt and get the brakes bled and working.
I'll try to post up some pics after we get the rear suspension finished up.

She's back on all fours!!!!!!!
Well we got the rear end tacked up.
I plan on checking measurements in a couple of days and if everything checks out...we will weld it up.
This is another milestone for me since she hasn't been on all four tires in over a year

Nice looking build, I followed the link from your post in the Ozarks section. Running those springs, I'd think about going up to a 37" tire. Now's the perfect time to tub the firewall a bit for clearance

Slowly making progress
Nothing like selling your house and buying a new one to speed up a build. I had to kick it in gear in order to get it on a trailer and over to the new house.
Since then I have been mainly working on interior stuff and wiring up the stereo.
I had a local fab shop put in my exhaust, plate the frame and build my bumper.
I still need to:
...Break in the diff gears
...Check and re-torque all bolts
...Install bikini-top
...wire up the winch
after that it will be ready for a test run.

It's Alive
We had a little club gathering at a members farm - which gave me an excellent opportunity to see how everything works.
So far so good...
Need to chase down a belt squeel and a vaccum issue that is only affected when the break pedal is depressed.
Here are a few pics - more to come later.
I let my wife drive it most of the morning since she had to leave early.
