My Marlin/Trail Gear Rear Bumper

I combined Marlin's, and Trail Gear's designs to build my bumper. I used 1/2'' plate where it bolts to the frame all the way out to the end where I drilled holes for recovery points. Quarter inch plate on the uprights, and 1 3/4'' HREW tubing for the rest.

I built it over Memorial Day weekend, and had a blast doing it. Aside from sliders, this was my most technical build using my tubing bender, and I really wish I had Bend Tech for some of the bend angles.

I know, I should have washed my truck before taking pics.

Thanks Brian. It felt good to be wear a welding helmet. I can't wait to see you build this F-Toy. Where did you get the frame?

89, I have a ProBender tubing bender. It might take a few minutes to do a bend, but I am happy with it. Their customer support is great, and I might dare say, overkill. They want you to be super happy.

There are a few flaws in the bends, and that is why on my next major build, I am going to buy Bend Tech software.

Thanks for the compliments. I really enjoy bending, and most of all welding.

Just an FYI, but bending software is overrated. I got some, but just about never use it except on multi axis bends and then that is just to get a total length.

I am using my old 85 4Runner frame from project "Wabbit". About all that is left is the frame. Chassis should be here mid June I hope.

Nice rear bumper! I'm in the process of building a rear tube bumper also. It will end up looking similar to yours.
