Hi guys and gals, you people have a great site. their isn't many people up here that Yota's but anyway i have 90 truck with a 3.0, well it used to have a 3.0 in it . I am in the process of swaping in a 4.3 with a 700r4 tranny, I am thinking of keeping my transfer case but was wandering if it would handle the extra power of a 4.3. was also wandering if my transfer case will stay in the stock location? ANY help would be greatly apprecated THANKX

I'm sure it would be able to hold up to the power but if you've got some money I'd try and track down a gear driven case but you'll need a 23 spline one. That way you can go dual cases, get new gears etc. down the road if you want to.

Tcase will *NOT* stay in teh stock location, and if you want it to do so, I'd recommend skipping the swap. Position the engine where you want it and let the rest fall in place.
I also recommend upgrading to the 23 spline input shaft. It's cheap insurance.

Ialready have a 23 spline transfer case. why wouldn't the t case stay in the stock location? I have done all the measurement and everything say's they will . thats if i use the advance adapter kit for mating a 700r4 to a 23 spline transfer case. Am i missing anything. what about headers will i be able to use my stock 4.3 manifolds or am i going to have to use something else?

im calling bs on you cant get the tcase back in the stock location. 4.3 chev is a short motor even and with a short water pump there should be plenty of room to get the case where it has to go. cheak out this thread. https://www.yotatech.com/forums/f88/1wicked_runners-rig-56881/

Markus project DID put the t-case back in the stock location. With the AA adaptors you can mount the t-case in position and let the engine sit whereever it needs to. In the thread that you pointed to, the T-case most certainly stayed in the stock position. That was a critical point because we had a dual t-case setup along with custom drivelines that required keeping the t-case where it was.
