BudBuilt More Like BUD BEEF

BudBuilt Xfer Case Cross Member, for 2nd Gen 4Runners, 22RE with Auto Trans
Had Bud build in a 1" Drive Train Lift.

This thing is BEEF. Beautifully designed, Strong as hell, Bud does good work. Work every penny
The AutoTranny Protection is a must,

As most of you Know the Stock cross member is a Rock Magnet. and the Skid Plate for the transfer case is a piece of tin.

Anyway Onto the Pics.

UPS Did the worst they could during shipping, the Box was ripped and smashed to hell, but the Cross member laughed it all off

Its off being Powder coated as we speak

Shipping damage "hahaha Weak little UPS girlie Man.. You cannot harm me I'm a BudBuilt"

Beeeeeeeeeeeeef

While the Cross member is off being powder coated I decided to tackle the removal of the Stock Cross member

Word of advise. Use lots of penetrating lubricates days before, and Lots of heat prior to get these bolts off (Even so I still broke 3 Bolts in the Frame (Which required hours a drilling and swearing)

Front View

Rear View (don't mind my scary jack tactics... they work and surprising stable)

Look ma No Cross member (More scary Jack work... Only used to quickly see what the drive line angles would look like lifted 1")

Hopefully I get the Bud Beef Back from the powder coaters today or tomorrow.

Put some anti-seize on those flat-head bolts when you assemble it, or you'll play HECK getting it apart a year or two from now....

Yes Anti Seize is my friend. I use it on every single bolt I ever remove. I buy anti seize it in bulk =)

Just heard I can pick up my parts tonight... YIPPIE

I have a 3" Body Lift. I Wanted to go with a 3" Drive train lift, But Bud being the helpful and knowledgeable person he his, pointed out I would run into major drive line vibrations being coil sprung. (Leaf sprung Trucks can rotate the rear diff/pinion angle) Coil Sprung trucks are Fixed.

My other option was to get a custom high angle Double Cardon/CV Drive shaft. But they are HUGE bucks. $700+

Decided 1" Drive train lift was best.

That's good to know. I called Trail Gear and one of the guys told me that the dual case crossmember wouldn't work a single t-case. He just costed them a sale...

nope the TG daul case x-member WILL work with a single case...i've known 3 poeple who haved used it on a single case then have gone to duals...the only downfall is you have to rmove the x-member to change the fuild in the t-case...also on the side note...the V6 dual case x-member WILL NOT work with the stock v6 chain case...only the 4cly gear driven one so if you have a v6 you'd have to convert to a gear driven case(which you'd have to do anyways to run duals)

Nothing Fits.

Seems I have the V6 Chain Driven T-Case. A rare amount of 4Cylinder 4Runners are shipped with the V6 T-Case. I'm one of the lucky bastards that got the V6 Junk Case.

Working with Bud to see what we can do. Also checking Junks yards for 4Cylinder t-cases

Sorry For the Lack of updates.

Bud is awesome! Thats all I can say. My screw up, and he is going well out of his way to make this work.

He and I came up with a bracket that bolts to the Bud Built 4Cylinder plate, and than bolts to the stock V6 XFer case, this way If I ever bust the V6 Case, I can swap in a true 4cylinder Case! and keep my Bud Built.

So it will now work with either a 4cylinder case or a V6 case.

Bud is shipping me a new V6 Skid plate as there is no way we can get the 4Cylinder skid to fit.

Easiest way from what I learned to tell the differance between the V6 Chain Driven POS Case, and the True 4Cylinder gear driven case is the V6 case hangs down below the crossmember.

See Pics above, If yours looks like that its a V6 Case.

Ill post pics later of the new bracket, and install.

Um No..... ! Let me see if I can write this in simple form

1: Bud Made a Bracket that allows the the use of both the V6 Case and the 4Cyl Case to work the the 4Cylinder Crossmember

2: Bud is sending me a V6 SKID PLATE to use on my 4Clyinder Crossmember

3: BUD IS AWESOME.
