5.0 Chevy Swap

My buddy said he would sell me a 5.0 chevy engine out of his trans-am for $100 plus he said he could help me weld engine mounts. Is this possible to put in an 89 3.0 5 speed PU, I have seen 4.3 and 350 put in but no 5.0. Any suggestions or pictures would help if you have pics of the engine mounts that would help thanks

the 350 is a lot better of an engine but basically shares many of the same properties as the 305... the SB gm are pretty much all the same on the lwoer half design wise

All of the small blocks up until '95 or so were all the same on the outside. Swapping one is the same as swapping another. Since I already have a 283 in mine, a 350 (or 305, or 400, etc.) would be a simple afternoon swap for me. That said, a 305 isn't that great an engine. Better power and torque than your 3.0 but quite inferior to other small-blocks, even some which are smaller in size.
