2004 Toyota Tacoma DCab SR5

Ran Otay Mountain truck trail just south of Chula Vista. First trail for the Taco and in stock form. Couldn't find it at first and ended up going up a "Little Bird Mountain Trail." Turned out to be a glorified ranch driveway. After getting directions from Border Patrol we finally found it. It's a good low-key trail with a couple of side trails/shortcuts, some of which I wouldn't touch without at least a 3in lift and more aggressive tread. Main trail was mostly graveled. It is one lane but they post mirrors at all blind curves and I only ran into one dirt bike. Amazing views throughout the entire trail.

Here are some pics.

I was pretty impressed with how the Taco handled, I wanted to throw more at it but Had to keep it low key being a family trip and running solo. The mod bug bit me during the trail run.

After a lot of research and talking with other Taco owners I went with the All-pro front and rear 3" lift kits. Got a set of Tundra rims for $340 and wrapped them in 32" Duratracs.

Bilstein coilovers

All-pro leafs and Bilstein 5125 shocks

Lift, Rims, 32" Tires

After I installed everything I had to take the taco back up to Otay Mountain and try those side trails I passed up the last time. Took the opportunity to test out the flex and articulation. Broke in the new suspension and Duratracs. Was very happy with the results. It was a good trail run.
