I've been thinking about exactly this. I just don't know if I'll be able to swing it this summer.
There has to be some amazing wheeling up in WY.

If you are heading up in that portion of the country, I would HIGHLY recommend this region in Idaho - especially if you want to get off the beaten path in a vehicle and explore some incredible country without bumping into tourists and other travelers.
http://www.topozone.com/map.asp?lat=...G&size=l&s=500 There are 2 trails in this area: Lolo Pass and McGruder Corridor, both of them are at least 40 miles long. I have hiked/fished in this area several times in the past and its truly a great place. The map above is the Lolo Trail, just north of that trail is Moose/Kelley/Cayuse Creek area where some great camping is. Lots of water, canyons and mountains throughout this region.

I'd be up for that - as long as it doesn't interfere with our annual Uintahs trip in July. I lived in Idaho for 2 years and never got to Yellowstone - that would be a riot. I love road trips

I spent most of my time around Kelly Canyon and up towards Island Park area when I was going to college. My brother and I found some really interesting areas to go and camp about two years back (I still know where they are at)
