Does anyone in New York wheel?

Marlin may get some of the money) . |

Note the date of my post... May. And zero responses. They're all too busy hugging trees and going to the organic market.
Maybe I'll get to pull a few Volvo's out of the ditch this winter.

What're the wheeling areas around Syracuse? I got a solid axle Yota locked F+R on 36" IROKs. Rausch Creek is the closest area I've heard of.
Looks like we'll be able to have some fun on the roads this weeked though THIS COMPLEX STORM WILL SPREAD SNOW ACROSS THE REGION ON SATURDAY NIGHT... WITH SEVERAL INCHES OF ACCUMULATION POSSIBLE BY DAYBREAK SUNDAY. SNOW MAY MIX WITH SLEET FOR A TIME ON SUNDAY MORNING... ESPECIALLY TO THE SOUTH OF THE INTERSTATE 88 AND ROUTE 17 CORRIDORS. SNOWFALL MAY BE HEAVY AT TIMES ON SUNDAY...WITH SIGNIFICANT ACCUMULATIONS EXPECTED BY SUNDAY NIGHT. ALL OF THE WARNING AREA WILL LIKELY SEE TOTAL ACCUMULATIONS GREATER THAN 7 INCHES...WITH THE HEAVIEST BANDS OF SNOW MORE LIKELY TO OCCUR OVER THE CENTRAL SOUTHERN TIER... FINGER LAKES REGION AND WESTERN MOHAWK VALLEY WHERE AMOUNTS IN EXCESS OF A FOOT ARE POSSIBLE. SLEET MAY TEND TO KEEP AMOUNTS UNDER A FOOT OVER THE NORTHERN TIER OF PENNSYLVANIA AND IN THE WESTERN CATSKILLS OF NEW YORK. PRECIPITATION IS EXPECTED TO DIMINISH TO SNOW SHOWERS OVER MOST OF THE REGION LATE SUNDAY NIGHT AND MONDAY... HOWEVER THE FAVORED LAKE EFFECT SNOW AREAS MAY RECEIVE ADDITIONAL ACCUMULATIONS FROM DEVELOPING LAKE SNOW BANDS. A WINTER STORM WARNING MEANS SIGNIFICANT AMOUNTS OF SNOW... SLEET... AND ICE ARE EXPECTED OR OCCURRING. THIS WILL MAKE TRAVEL VERY HAZARDOUS OR IMPOSSIBLE.

Old post I know, but there is a group going to Rausch Creek the 8th-10th of July. Any one want to join? I am leaving from Syracuse Friday after work. We have around 10 drivers going. Any questions let me know.

Upstate NY here! live in the Lake George area...about an hour north of Albany. We wheel some of the snowmobile trails around here. Also in Granville NY a 4 wheel drive park opened up a year or 2 ago. Supposed to be a decent place with different rated trails and a mud pit area.

x2 on Mettowee off road park in Granville, I've wheeled there a few times and there's something for everybody, everything from the gnarliest mud bog ive ever seen to some legit rock crawling. I'm on LI for the summer and the lack of wheeling is making me go nuts...

I've been off these boards for a long time, but I'm finally back in a Toy, so I feel justified in posting again.
The Cliff's Notes: used to wheel, reproduced, sold the wheeler(s), kids are now pretty much old enough to start wheeling, bought a wheeler. I'm in Syracuse and yeah, I'm looking to get back into getting dirty. I used to hook up with the Yankee Toys and/or Gotham City folks and wheel southern NH/northern MA & PA, but this is going back maybe 10 years (sheesh). Here's how long I've been out of it - I can't believe Paragon is gone. That place rocked. So I have some catching up to. It appears there's a Paragon replacement nearby the old PAP, is this true/open? What's good? Ithaca's not far at all (if you're still there ... that post is only 4 years old now LOL)

The weekend is somewhat flexible for us. I was thinking the 20th-22nd. I have every other friday off and like wheeling there on fridays. We are going to leave syracuse on thursday night, wheel friday and saturday, then we need to leave sat night. Just let me know if anyone is interested.
fasterdammit- Got your PM, PM sent. ![]() Not an event. I just figured I have a membership good for a year, may ought to use it more than once a year. Last edited by afwrestler1986; 09-15-2011 at 02:42 AM. |
