question for roadrunner
There is a thread going in the other room about winches. What winch do you have in your TJM. And how do you like it. I sold a bike for enough to get me winch before this winter. Thanks.

I have the Warn XD9000 and happy with it. I haven't been in a "winching" situation yet, but tested it on my uncle's farm using a tree and snatch block. 4x4 Connection installed mine.

I forgot to add, I wish you could get the Warn winch without the cable. I plan on switching to the synthetic winch line. I think you can get the Superwinch minus the wire cable if you want the synthetic line. However I'm not sure whether or not the Superwinch will fit inside the TJM.

thanks, i am thinking bout getting a warm M8000, 4wheel parts has them for $499 and free shipping right now. I think i will stick with the steel cable for a bit, then go to synthetic, for ease of handling and safety issues.

oh yea, get the TJM license plate holder. I forget the price, but this is a neat gadget you can get from 4x4 Connection. I didn't see it on their website so you'll have to ask for it. The license plate flips up in the holder to expose the winch. If I had a digital camera, I could show you how I modified the holder to hold the plate above the rollerheads.
