1985 toyota sr5 backspacing
I am really interested in buying a set of tires/rims, but i do not know if the will rub or not. My truck is a 1985 sr5 regular cab truck. I am wondering if 4" is to much back spacing or not.

Yes, 4" is likely to rub on the steering arms:

Usually 3-3/4" or less is what you need and even there, depending on tire size, you may find the tires rubbing on the springs at full lock (up front) and on the frame in back (at full articulation).

My old new truck
Hi Folks
I'm a newbie and mechanically ignorant. Back in 1985 I bought a 4x4 SR5 longbed used.
The guy before me lifted it and stuck some good size "centerlines" on it. He had it for about 6 months then had to sell because his wife got pregnant. I dated my wife in it through the late 80's and sold it in the early 90's to a friend. He took good care of it ...long story short, I bought it back and want to restore it. (It's still in great shape)
I am told that it is a sought after truck and if I don't keep it locked up, it will be stollen.
So please, enlighten me to what I really have. Thanks
