What locking differential would you suggest
Well id search but it is pretty late. Well I do some recreation offroad and Im just looking for a solid differential that can lock and unlock pretty easily. Drive mainly to school and stuff. Any opinions for something
I know from other sites ill probobly get tolded to search but i will after this one.

Theres only 2 selectable lockers out there for the Toyota REAR axle (only one for the front, ARB) Toyota elocker or ARB air locker.
I choose the elocker, and explained it on my site, along with how to retrofit it into your axle

I love my lockrights in the front or rear if you can handle the wheels being fully locked all the time. Since it seems you're using it mostly for a DD, I'd recommend going with the ARB. That way, you'll also have on-board air. It's a good chunck of money up front but I believe it's well worth it.

X2 on the Aussie, we put one in Vince's front end and it was a very straight foward install and works awesome. Shipped to the door for 260.00 Now that's a damn good price for the quality of it. Top notch.
Search more like the others have mentioned and one more suggestion. If people give you a suggestion on a locker...make sure they have ran one before and not just regurgitating what they've read on the net or hearsay.
There are finite differences between all of the different brands and methods of locking a diff and lots to do with driving style and terrain.

If it's just your DD and you don't wheel every weekend, but want the security of a locker when you need it then go selectable. Get an ARB or an E-locker.

It would help if we knew what kind of truck you have. That can make a difference in what lockers are an option.
bamachem, "differential" doesn't refer to the IFS differential anymore than it refers to the differential located in a solid axles 3rd member. But yeah, no E-locker for the front of an IFS rig.. which we don't know if he has an IFS or solid axle since he hasn't posted details of his rig yet.

yeah, differential is just the gears inside that differentiate power between wheels.
Eaton only makes junk for dana, gm and ford axles for now
elockers only fit the rear

How did they get it to fit, the front IFS is set up so that you'd have to cut the housing comepletly, and even then it would be hard. Perhaps you are refering to the SA, in which case i would say you are right. But i was talking about IFS which i should have clarified. Sorry
