As far as my truck I am going to get the cutting wheel and sawsall out sunday and start clearencing things.
The roll bar is coming off going to a buddy of mine.
I'll probably do something simliar to this truck I saw this truck on marlincrawlers page he is setup with class 3 receivers on both sides for a multi mount winch..
Plus it gives me a excuse to cut off the rusty bed parts.
So was your truck running wheel spacers? Or stock width axles?

Keep us posted on the chop job! You might try some pnuematic shears for straighter cuts and less effort...and much less vibrating while cutting.

Very true if I had one I would use it.
However I don't the sawzall will be useful in taking the metal off in a hurry for the rough cuts.
I'll probably clean up the rough cuts with the grinder and the cut off wheel.
I may rent a welder during the week and bob the bed a few inches too.
I also ordered up a new sky hysteer setup from roadless gear LLC .
I am likely going to give my buddy those hysteer arms I bought from ya since he needs a start on his or he'll never get around to getting it.

I kinda don't really have a choice not to run a spacer on my truck.
Since I am running IFS calipers and vented FJ rotors the caliper sticks out and will rub on the inside of the wheel.

Ya I did that. Probably overkill but I torque checked them twice at 90 FTLB's.
Well Tomorrow I have the 36's.

Figures never rely on anyone. They still don't have my tires.
I am fed up with this place to say the least. The guy was like oh ya it was good friday last week.
I was like I have been waiting for 3 weeks for these friggin tires. He was like I can have them by thursday next week.
He game me 3 other options for tires he can get overnight supposedly that thier other warehouse has in stock. 35x12.50 BFG MT's for $179 ea, 35x12.50 Geolander MT's for $180 ea or 35x12.50 Swamper SSR's for $240 ea.
I can't get my money back for the swamper LTB tires since they were mounted on a rim. They will only give me a in-store credit. I am thinking of just getting the BFG tires at this point since it is such a PITA to get the 36" swampers for some reason.
What do you think I should do?

dont pay 240 for the SSRs, tread depth is worthless and thats overpriced imo...if its only another week or so for the 36s I would wait..you'll probably be happy you did in the long run...a 35" BFG or Yoko will be under 35" tall too, but they are both quality tires...not nearly what the 36s will be off road however. good luck..talk em down on price for waiting so long! speak with a manager...make it happen!

I decided to go with 35x12.50 BFG MT's at $177 ea.
It cost me $23 less per tire than the 36x12.50 Swampers TSL's that they were charging me $200 ea which I thought I was going to be paying that much for SX's not reg TSL's they were overcharging me for anyways.
The guy didn't charge me to mount or balence the new 35's though.
I kinda feel like I got short changed in a way but I guess it's better than getting ripped off and paying more for TSL that should of cost $175 ea than at $200 ea.
I put them on they look great like they belong on the truck.
Ever notice BFG's are skinny I had them mounted on a 8" rim and it looks like a 10-11.5 wide tire.
Anyways I'll get pics up tomorrow sometime.

Some pics of my truck on 35x12.50 BFG's
I still have a Roger Brown 1" body-lift to install as well. Clearance isn't a issue either since I did all the trimming.

looks great...BFGs are always a solid choice, I have those same tires on my 94 4runner in the 32" variety though, its on its second set of them...never had any problems off road although it doesnt see nearly as rough as terrain as my 86 but its been on some fairly nasty trails and the sidewalls have held up well and always good traction, especially in the wet rocks, surprisingly...better than the x-terrains in that stuff.
now get those shocks re-mounted, maybe punch the rears through the bed and mount the fronts lower on the axle so you can really stuff those tires with that extra clearance you have w/o 36s. look into some BBCS 15 shocks...

-A total of 15"s of shock travel.
-High pressure Nitrogen charged mono-tube (with internal floating piston (IFP)) construction that dissipates heat more effectively for increased seal life and durability.
-Degressive piston (both comp & reb sides), valved specifically for rockcrawling.
-Durable powdercoated finish for the best corrosion resistance.
-Nitro Steel shock shafts won’t chip or flake like chrome.
-Polyurethane bushings.
-Polyurethane bottomout bumper with Aumnium bumpcap. (used for light duty, no jumping/prerunning)
-Welds done with robotic projection welder for accuracy and consistent quality.
-Tube ends are rolled closed for leak-free construction… other brands have tubes that are welded closed.
-Large, 46mm piston for more consistent damping.
-Viton seal and low friction piston rod bearing for long life and no leaks.
-36.375 extended
-21.375 collapsed
-5/8" Rod Diameter

Ya the bed is kinda ugly now with the rust and all.
I kinda need to take it off so I can sand and paint the frame.
The frame is really solid it had some serious plating repairs done to it.
you can see the areas that are plated most are over 1/8" thick they are the areas that have surface rust.
I think the repairs will outlast the rest of the frame.
