regular u-joints would be a pain on the highway though...

anyone else have info on this?

anyone?

ill make and test some slip shaft CV's if i can get all the info down...

front CV's do turn when in 2wd though right?
manual hubs would disengage them from spinning at all correct?

so get some manual hubs, and use u-joints for the front axles and itd be tons stronger...

only problem is i dont know if i want to give up my shifting into 4 with the stick :-p

You still have shift-on-the-fly when the hubs are locked. I keep mine locked most of the winter, just for that reason...

that is true i suppose. but if persay you were on a flat part of a trail and were driving faster, the ujoints would probably make a lot of noise, unless you got out and unlocked the hubs, which would be annoying.

anyone have a set of CV's they wont be using for awhile? i will modify them with a reinforced slip spline shaft for free, then you would just need to test them for me.

probably 1-2 weeks turn around time.

does anyone know which cv's 96 tacomas without manual hubs come with: splined or threaded?

theres 2 types apparently...
