rocker panel problems

i got a new job about 4 weeks ago and i have to drive down a dirt road. my tires grab the rocks and throw them up at the rocker panel and are chipping the paint like crazy. any temporary, cheap suggestion on how to fix this. preferably something under $100 that requires no body work such as drilling into the metal. its only temporary.

What kind of rig?

Running boards work well too, and they're easy to find on here as people replace them with rocksliders.

thanks guys. those all helped alot. i already have the stock mudflaps but they don't too much. and i have gone to o'riley's and autozone and they only seem to carry mudflaps for domestic trucks. i have a 1995 sr5 4runner. after this job is over for the summer i hope to paint it a charcoal color and get some blackout light covers for it. i was thinking about getting some nerf bars or something but i really don't feel like drilling into the body. that and i just can't seem to find anybody that makes modifications for 95 4runners... and i don't have any money...

if its a 95 4runner, search your local craigslist, junkyards and try to snag some stock running boards. I personally like them better off, but i feel what you are saying with the paint. Mine has started chipping a bit, either way hope you find something you like!
