Rear Disc Brake install

A friend of mine in Kansas City (Techtafab) makes these brake brackets.. I was helping him move them online on pirate and had a bombardment of questions about install--sooooo I we installed disc brakes on my buddy's 81 Toyota pickup and I put together a little photo writeup along the way. This rear disc brake conversion applys to all 79-95 Toyota Pickups and 4Runners.. All years can use the same kit and procedures. Gotta love how Toyota kept it simple!!

If you're looking for the brackets and more info check out www.muchadoproductions.com/parts.html

How about the parking brake?

Would be possible to use front vented rotors and calipers from a 95 4Runner?

Blizzard-
This was installed on a trail rig, most of us don't run E-brakes... If you need one, I'd suggest getting the transfer case e-brake kit from All-Pro, marlin, or trail gear.. I am not 100% sure if the vented rotors and calipers from a 95 would work, although people do convert to IFS hubs up front on their older SA rigs so I would think it might work. I'm not 100% either way. There was a guy on marlin BB who bought brackets from me and said he was going to try it but I never saw a writeup or install of it.

I asked because I'd like to do discs in the rear of my truck but want to use Toy parts because of the availibility here in Spain.

Also asked about the vented rotors because it's difficult to get the solid axle ones here, no SA 4Runners here

I think the 70 series axle is identical... This is a 70 series coil sprung axle:

Someday I'd buy one of those to coil-SAS my truck...

Go talk to 4Runner4Ever, he did that and lives in the Netherlands. Those axles are almost easier to get in Europe then over here it seems. Not to much demand for them over there, and there are percentage wise more landcruisers then 4Runners.

Your useing rotors from a solid axle?
Will IFS rotors work?
Will calipers from any IFS work?

What studs did you use? (what length are they as you indicate they have to be longer, and what did you source them from?)

Your website includes a "kit" for ~$50 more than just the brakets options, but i couldnt find were it lists what else comes in the kit for the addtional price.
